About Awards

One of the main pillars of the mission of the Scientific Society of Arab Nursing Faculties’ is to encourage the excellence in Nursing:
Thus, the society raises many yearly awards include:

-  Excellence Award for Distinguished Teacher
-  Excellence Award for Distinguished Academic Institution
-  Distinguished Research Award
-  Distinguished Master thesis Award
-  Distinguished Doctoral Dissertation Award
-  Student Creativity Award
These awards originate from the believe of the necessity of encouraging the excellence in academic education and clinical fields, in order to reach high quality cost effective nursing care.


Excellence Award for Distinguished Staff Member

Whoever is progressing for the award include?
1. The Arab citizen.
2. Be an individual faculty member at a college for members of the Scientific Society of Arab Nursing Faculties.
3. Be innovative lifetime achievement in the field of nursing and distinct has led to the development aspects of nursing in a partial or comprehensive.
4. Herb that does not filter life for 40 years and has never honored.

Attached to the application copies of the candidate of the following documents:
• Biography
• Copy of the passport
• Personal photo
• Names of referees (3)
• Documents proving distinctiveness (eg, research , awards , ..... )

Award
This award is accompanied by a prize of $1500, Shield and certificate.

Excellence Award for Distinguished Academic Institution
• The institution to be a member of the Scientific Society of Arab Nursing Faculties.
• That the institution may have paid their contributions for the last three years.
• Overall business to be innovative and unique in the field of nursing and must submit paperwork to prove it.
Note: The documents must be certified.

Award
This award is accompanied by a prize of $2500, Shield and certificate.

Distinguished Research Award
The purpose of the Distinguished Research Award is to recognize the outstanding and innovative research in the field of nursing education, practice and leadership.

Award Criteria
The research article should:
1. Have a widespread application.
2. Be relevant to practitioners.
3. Add value to current body of knowledge.
4. Provide useful and practical information.
5. Provide guidance for quality improvements in the field.
6. Be engaging and thought provoking, providing new motivational insights.

Application Procedure
1. Nominations for the Distinguished Research Award must be made by the researcher himself, herself.
2. Applicant should be a PhD holder.
3. Applications should be submitted before the end of May.

Selection Process
The Award Committee will review the packets and make recommendations for final approval.
The Nomination Packet should include following: 1. The nomination form.
2. Two (2) letters of support from colleagues or employer.
3. The researcher full Curriculum Vitae.
4. Soft copy of the nominated research article.

Guidelines for Letters
1. Limit letters to two (2) pages, single spaced with a minimum of 1 inch margins and 12 point typeface.
2. Summarize the major scholarly contributions of the nominee.
3. Describe the influence of these contributions on the scholarly work or development of others.
4.  Describe your interaction with the nominee or nominee's work.

Award
The Distinguished Research Award is accompanied by a prize of $1000

Master thesis Award
The purpose of the award is to recognize and reward distinguished scholarship and research at the master’s level.
Award Criteria
• The thesis must contain original work that contributes significantly to the nursing discipline.
• The thesis must have been accepted as final by the degree-granting institution.
• Applications should be submitted before the end of May.

The Nomination Packet should include following:
• The nomination form.
• A non-technical summary prepared by the student (1000-1500 words) describing the research and its significance for a general academic audience of non-specialists.
• A letter from the department head or major professor and one additional faculty member. The letters should include information regarding the significance of the thesis, the contribution of the thesis to the program of the degree granting unit, and the impact of the thesis on the knowledge base of the discipline.
• A CV or resume from the student nominee.
• Three hard copies of the thesis.

Selection Process
The Award Committee will review the packets and make recommendations for final approval.

Award
The Master thesis Award is accompanied by a prize of $500
Distinguished Dissertation Award
The purpose of the award is to recognize and encourage superior research and writing by doctoral candidates in nursing.

Award Criteria
• The dissertation must contain original work that contributes significantly to the nursing discipline.
• Each nominated dissertation must have been successfully defended.
Applications should be submitted before the end of May.

The Nomination Packet should include following:
• The nomination form.
• A non-technical summary prepared by the student (1000-1500 words) describing the research and its significance for a general academic audience of non-specialists.
• A letter from the department head or major professor and one additional faculty member. The letters should include information regarding the significance of the thesis, the contribution of the thesis to the program of the degree-granting unit, and the impact of the thesis on the knowledge base of the discipline.
• A CV or resume from the student nominee.
• Soft copies of the thesis.

Award
The Doctoral Dissertation Award is accompanied by a prize of $1000
Student Creativity Award
The purpose of this award is to recognize and encourage the creators of nursing students in the following areas:
• Scientific Research.
• Community Service.
• artistic creativity.

Nomination file must include the following:
• The project should be within the above-mentioned areas only.
• A letter of nomination by the Faculty Deanship.
• provide a summary of creative project in addition to video recording if necessary.
• prove that all the participants are students from the College of Nursing.
• Applications must be submitted before the end of May.
• That the institution may have paid their contributions for the last three years.

The selection process
The Commission will review the nomination files and make recommendations to the Secretariat for final approval.

Award:
• Certificate of Appreciation.
• Distributed cash prizes for the first three winners as follows:
• First Place: 500 USD.
• Second Place: 300 USD.
• Third Place: 200 USD.

About Us

The Scientific Society of Arab Nursing Faculties was established in October 1998. The office of the Nursing Dean at Al-Zaytoonah University initiated its establishment and asked from the Union General of Arab Universities to host the Scientific Society of Arab nursing faculties at the Faculty of Nursing of Al Zaytoonah University in Amman/Jordan on a permanent basis.
